The Story Behind 'Like I Loved You Then'
Given this is the first official Webster Project video it seemed appropriate this would be the next blog.
This is one of my oldest songs. A friend of mine was going through a particularly difficult break up and had two step daughters from this relationship.
He was having a really hard time connecting with the younger of the two during this time period and he'd expressed his concern over this to me. He said he just didn't know what to say or do.
Later that night I replayed the conversation over in my head and it dawned on me, all she needs to hear you say is I love you now like I loved you then, and the song was born.
I really like this one for a number of reasons, 1, it's comprised of only two chords, 2, it was one of those that came to me in under 30 mins and thirdly, it comes in at 2:52 and contains 3 instrumental/solo sections!!! My favourite type of song!
